Fun fact: Farnborough International Airshow is the world’s largest temporary outdoor exhibition
As host venue for Farnborough International Airshow 2026, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre provided the setting for the global aerospace, defence and space community to shape the future of flight.
Across the show, the venue welcomed 141,580 trade and public visitors, a show-on-show increase of 41% and nearly double the attendance recorded in 2022, while the airshow provided the stage for commercial deals worth more than $84.7 billion.
Across five days, Farnborough International brought together leaders from government, manufacturers, investors, start-ups, academia, media and future talent from 136 countries at the birthplace of British aviation. A brand-new sixth hall and expanded chalet offering increased the venue’s capacity and helped make Farnborough International Airshow 2026 the largest event in the show’s 78-year history.
In a global first, Vertical Aerospace completed the first public electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flight at Farnborough International Airshow, transitioning from helicopter mode to aeroplane mode and back again. Fursan Al Emarat, the UAE National Air Display Team, also made its Farnborough debut with a renowned seven-jet aerial display.
Beyond the exhibition and flying displays, the airshow served as an important forum for government and industry engagement. Attendees included Wes Streeting MP, Secretary of State for Defence; Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister of State (Minister for Artificial Intelligence); and Jonathan Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade.
The sold-out Pioneers of Tomorrow programme demonstrated the venue’s ability to support both trade audiences and a large-scale public experience. On Friday 24 July, thousands of visitors were welcomed through the gates for careers activities, live demonstrations and opportunities to meet employers and educators. The programme inspired young people to explore pathways into aerospace, engineering and STEM while helping industry engage directly with its future workforce.
