This November, Farnborough International will host one of the most significant moments in UK
functional fitness to date. On 28 and 29 November 2026, DEKA lands in London for the first
time, bringing the UK's first ever DEKA Trifecta Weekend to one of the country's premier event
spaces.
So what is DEKA? In short, it's a standardised functional fitness test, designed to measure how
well your body performs across strength, endurance, and pacing. STRONG, MILE and FIT are
all built around the same 10 zones: rowing, ski erg, air bike, farmer's carry, tank push and pull,
box jump overs, lunges, sit-up throws, dead ball wall overs, and burpees. The zones don't
change. What changes is how much running you do between them, and that's what defines the
distance.
DEKA STRONG is all 10 zones back-to-back, no running. DEKA MILE adds 160m of running
before each zone, totalling one mile. DEKA FIT adds 500m of running before each zone,
totalling 5km. Complete all three and you've earned the DEKA Trifecta, a recognition awarded to
athletes who take on every distance.
DEKA London West is also a qualifying event for the DEKA World Championship 2027, giving
athletes the chance to earn their place on the global stage. STRONG, MILE and FIT will all run
across the weekend, alongside Ultra (five full laps of the FIT course) and Ruck (the FIT course
carrying a weighted pack). With the option to race Elite or Age Group for those aged 10 to 70+,
DEKA is where the entire fitness community comes together to test limits, break barriers, and
Celebrate Fitness.
