A feast of 150 fabulous classics awaits you at Historics annual ‘Flight of Elegance’ sale at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre this Saturday. It’s a truly exceptional selection of classics and collector cars appealing to all tastes and pockets.
Top billing on the provenance stakes goes to an impeccable 1936 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Touring Limousine, whose plush interior has soothed HM King George VI, Winston Churchill, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Field Marshal Montgomery.
Historics has a fascinating further selection from the elegant pre-war luxury era, including an exceptional masterpiece in the shape of a 1923 Bentley 3-Litre Open Tourer by H.J. Mulliner.
Take a close look at the joyful 1936 Armstrong Siddeley 17hp Special. Offered at a very attractive price, it’s destined to reward its next owner with enormous fun on the move.
Also reeking pre-war panache, a 1932 Lagonda 2-Litre Low Chassis Continental Tourer deserves close inspection, its ownership history including an enthusiast who enjoyed it for no less than 53 years.
For something completely different, a no-expense-spared 1939 Ford V8 De Luxe Coupe puts the USA on the agenda for all the right reasons, the beautifully-presented car now sporting a 259 cu.in. Chevrolet V8 boasting over 350bhp with a host of tremendous performance upgrades. It’s joined by a pristine, award-winning 1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible that’s surely beckoning summer road trip enthusiasts.
The UK/USA AC partnership rumbles supremely here in a shape of two magnificent Ford V8-powered AC Cobras, a meticulously maintained 1985 Mk.IV joined by an equally desirable 2021 Mk.II 289 by Superformance. And for pure American muscle, this most surely takes some beating... a bursting-with-brio evocation of the 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang Eleanor GT500.
Closer to home, a supreme powerhouse from Mercedes-Benz comes to sale. The 2019 AMG GTR Pro is one of just 750, and has travelled little more than 6,000 miles, its monster 577 bhp twin-turbo V8 capable of propelling it to 198mph. When it comes to more affordable classics, a 1977 Mitsubishi Colt Lancer GSR deserves a top prize. Absolutely immaculate thanks to the most painstaking restoration, this hugely collectible car is immensely rare.
