The South East Homebuilding & Renovating Show sets positive benchmark for 2022 events

The South East Homebuilding & Renovating Show, held at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre on 15-16 January, proved that confidence in live events has returned, not just for self-build and property renovation but for the entire UK events industry calendar.

Kickstarting HBRS’s 2022 event programme, more than 8,700 visitors and 150 exhibitors from a variety of sectors attended the two-day show in Farnborough. Free daily seminars and masterclasses took place with industry-leading experts covering kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows, extensions and conversions, eco and heating, architecture, design, financial services, planning permissions and much more.

Nick Noble, Event Director for the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, is delighted with the weekend, saying, “The South East Show was a huge success, better than we could have asked for. While Omicron hit the UK in mid-December, we decided to hold our nerve and go ahead with the show, albeit with some trepidation from our exhibitors regarding their return on investment. With registrations increasing in January, the show converted visitors’ initial interest into attendance and exceeded our expectations, overwhelming our exhibitors and vindicating our decision to go ahead. It’s clear people are craving live events and interaction with specialists and experts in their field as well as the desire to touch and feel high quality products. The South East Show has now set the tone for the 2022 events calendar, and we are already looking forward to the next show at the NEC in March.”

Carlo Zoccali, Venue Director at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre: “It has been amazing to see the enthusiasm from the Homebuilding & Renovating Show’s attendees and exhibitors on the return of live events. At Farnborough International, we have been driving the importance of face-to-face interaction within the events industry since the reopening of the sector last summer. The success of the event proves that the demand for in-person experiences is only growing, even with the highest level of health and safety measurements in place to adhere to all current government guidelines. This is a positive turning point for the industry and I am excited to harness our pioneering spirit at Farnborough to support more ground-breaking events come to life.”
