Farnborough International kicks off its busiest year since opening

  • With the currently booked events for 2024, Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre is set to see an 85% Y-O-Y increase in visitors over next 12 months.
  • Helen Ridley has been promoted to Assistant Venue Director to support the next steps of the venue’s growth plan.

Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre has kicked off what is set to be its busiest year since opening in 2018.

A leading exhibition and conference centre, which hosts more than 55 B2B and B2C exhibitions, conferences and experiences annually, a world-renowned event organiser, and film studios, Farnborough International is a catalyst for innovative experiences and rising events conglomerate. The award-winning venue has seen vast growth across its client portfolio and new customer base, with 2024 planned to bring 85% more visitors through its doors and counting, compared to last year.

This year will see Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre host a variety of acclaimed events, including the likes of Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, Security & Policing,  The Big One – Fishing Show, SQLBits, The British Motor Show, Screwfix Live, Everything Electric South and the internationally attended Farnborough International Airshow.

As the venue enters its next period of growth, Farnborough International has looked internally to bolster its leadership team. Helen Ridley has been promoted from Head of Event Management to Assistant Venue Director. With over 14 years of industry experience across leading hospitality and event venues, Helen will be driving forward the operational delivery of the venue with a focused, customer centric approach, and supporting her team with their career development.

Discussing her appointment, Helen Ridley said: “After four years of career development at Farnborough International across event management roles, I am thrilled to be appointed the Assistant Venue Director. Over the last 12 months we have been focusing on increasing our events portfolio and client base, driving a wider range of events to the venue and region.
