FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW ACHIEVES RECORD SALES FOR 2016 EVENT
Successful FIA14 and early booking offer encourages repeat booking, new development for FIA16 well underway.
On the back of the event’s record breaking year, exhibitors are already securing their exhibition space for the 2016 event. Airshow organisers, Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) has today announced that exhibition space is already 64% sold or reserved with almost a quarter of exhibition space booked during show week.
Speaking about the announcement, FIL Commercial Director, Amanda Stainer, said, “We’re delighted by the positive sales to date; it is a strong reflection that we’re delivering for our exhibitors and visitors. Our early booking rate and enhanced floor plans have encouraged exhibitors to secure their position at the show early and we urge anyone that hasn’t been in touch yet to get in contact before the offer closes.”
Post-event research indicates that FIA14 delivered for its customers with 75% of exhibitors rating their overall experience and visitor quality as either good or excellent. Additionally, the event met exhibitor’s main objectives to generate sales leads and promote their business. 70% of visitors surveyed also said the event met their objectives. Over the course of the five day global aerospace trade event, the value of orders and commitments totalled US$204bn - a record for the show.
Plans for FIA16 are now in development and the show organisers, FIL, are looking to make some
significant enhancements to the show in response to the exhibitor and visitor research. These include a larger civil delegations programme, improved participation initiatives for MRO, Rotary and machine tooling customers and enhanced exhibiting options for international and SME companies. The Space zone, which has now become an integral feature of the show and the Innovation zone will once again see increased presence.
Commenting about the 2016 show, Stainer, further added, “We’re making some quite radical changes at the show to support the changing demands of our exhibitors and visitors. We hope these changes will make for more improved networking opportunities at the show. 2016 is also the centenary anniversary for Boeing and we are in discussions with them regarding their presence at the show during this special time.”
