Farnborough International Airshow – What’s in it for the Airline Industry?

Why you should visit Farnborough International Airshow as an Airline

For the Airline Industry, the Farnborough International Airshow might seem like an excuse for a fun day out window shopping for the latest aircraft, however, there is real opportunity for business at the show.

Qatar Airways has participated in the event since 2014 and see the show as central to promoting its business aviation business. Other airlines have traditionally used the show as a PR vehicle to promote the purchase of new aircraft to their fleet.

However, the real business takes place in the exhibition halls. Outside the chalets of the large tier 1 manufacturers, there are a host of companies present that are relevant to the airline industry from aircraft interiors, in-flight entertainment, aircraft maintenance, supply chain management, and a vast array of MRO businesses. The FIA statistics speak for themselves…

  • 300+ exhibitors operating in the MRO sector
  • 100+ exhibitors operating in supply chain management
  • 24 exhibitors operating in In-flight entertainment
  • 86 exhibitors operating in aircraft interiors

For the 2018 edition of the show, we will be developing a delegations programme dedicated to the airline industry. We will be inviting heads of airlines to the show allowing them to experience the event and participate in a personalised schedule of meetings with key business that are relevant to them.

There is also a great opportunity for airline personnel to meet with key airline suppliers through our Meet the Buyer programme, the platform that provides airlines and MRO buyers the opportunity to meet exhibitors at the show through pre-arranged face-to-face meetings.

Congratulations to British Airways that won the Best UK-based airline award at the M&IT (Meetings & Incentive Travel) Awards. The category was sponsored by Farnborough International.
