Early sales reports from Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) organisers suggest that in general companies are upsizing the scale of their presence for FIA 2012 next year. Many SME exhibitors are increasing from shell-scheme stands to self-build space in the exhibition halls and an even higher proportion of exhibitors are upgrading from hall space to corporate hospitality chalets. Organisers Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) have also signed up a significant number of new exhibitors since space went on sale in June this year.
Planning for the show which takes place 9-15 July 2012 is forging ahead with several new developments having recently been finalised. These include the advent of a bespoke Aviation Security Zone and the increased size and scope of the Unmanned Systems Showcase, in partnership with AUVSI, which was launched with great success in 2010. Other key existing elements of the show will benefit from development and further investment by FIL in 2012 including the military delegations programme, the quality and breadth of which FIA is known for throughout the world, a newly developed civil delegations programme and the MoD Engagement Zone (MEZ) which was another highly successful concept pioneered by FIL in 2010.
With deadlines for early booking rates fast approaching, FIL says that it expects space sales to continue increasing and to be up on sales figures from the same time in the last show cycle come the end of this October.
FIL Exhibitions & Events Director, Amanda Stainer, said: “We are certainly seeing a positive increase in early bookings for FIA 2012 driven by our show developments and incentives. Adding value for Exhibitors and visitors through features has been our business model for success at Farnborough for many years and is largely why the show continues to be regarded as a ‘must-attend’ event throughout the industry.”
Ends – 13.09.2011
