Aircraft Display

The daily flying display is perhaps the most iconic component of the Airshow, and a fundamental part of the exhibition. The display showcases the most advanced aircraft from the commercial and military sectors.

Consistent with Farnborough International Airshow's business role, the flying display takes place during the afternoon, leaving the morning and lunch period free for business activity. The well-structured display provided a valuable presentation in which companies can demonstrate the capabilities of their products, enhanced by an illustrative commentary broadcast across the show site.

Static Aircraft Displays

The natural amphitheatre at the Farnborough Aerodrome allows aircraft to be exhibited to maximum effect in our extensive static aircraft park. Running in parallel with the exhibition, the static display gives visitors the opportunity to really get up close to the aircraft, admire their finer points, and examine their special features in great detail.

Aircraft participating in the flying display can be displayed to visitors prior to the display or, can be based on the north side of the Aerodrome and then visited under arrangements put in place by the organisers. For example, at a previous Airshow, the Airbus A380 has been on static display and then has flown each day in the air display.

All private business chalets offer a superb view of the static aircraft and flying displays.

Customer Demonstration Flights

To enable aircraft exhibitors to provide potential customers with the opportunity to appreciate the qualities of their product in the air, companies are invited to arrange customer demonstration flights.

Customer demonstration flights by fixed-wing aircraft can be arranged on trade days Monday to Friday and on public day Saturday (but not during the Flying Display).

In addition, customer demonstration flights by helicopters can be operated from the heliport, by arrangement with the heliport operator. These flights can take place during the opening hours of the show, including most times during the flying display.

Public Day Displays

The flying display lasts for approximately 4 ½ hours. Starting at around 1230 hrs the display usually includes a selection of historic to modern and civil to military aircraft. With aerobatics and the famous Red Arrows performing their breathtaking stunts the crowds are guaranteed to be enthralled.

The static display runs in parallel with the exhibition and gives visitors the opportunity to view the aircraft close up.
